About the Course

To remain competitive in today’s global economy, businesses need to redefine their processes. Existing processes are too costly, too wasteful and often irrelevant to their intended purpose. Business Process Management (BPM) provides the framework and tools to refocus business processes and achieve breakthrough improvements in quality, cycle-time and service while reducing costs. 

You will learn the internationally accepted Business Process Model and Notation Version 2.0 (BPMN) technique which is an intuitive way to define, analyse and document business processes. You will also learn how to design and implement the information technology and organisational structure and culture required to enable new processes. Emphasis is placed on the seamless integration of processes across the enterprise. 

The spectrum of topics necessary to effectively document, improve, design, redesign and transform business processes is covered in this six-month online certificate course.  This course is aligned with the Business Process Management Body of Knowledge (BPM CBOK®) Version 3.0.

Examination for the Certificate in Business Process Management

There are three course sections to this course. At the end of each module there will be an assessment:

  • Course Section 1. This section has a multiple choice assessment which counts towards your certificate mark.
  • Course Section 2. The assessment at the end of this course is to document an as-is business process model based on a case study which must then be submitted to our Examination Board for marking.
  • Course Section 3. At the end of this course section your assessment will be to improve and document a to-be business process based on a case study.

You will need to achieve a mark of at least 50% in each assessment to achieve the Certificate in Business Process Management. As soon as marking has been completed you will be notified of your certificate mark and can then download your Certificate of Competence.
